I recently started a new chapter of my life this past June by moving in to a two-bedroom townhouse in the heart of Los Angeles with my best friend of 13 years! The mattress I was using prior was borrowed, and I knew that it’s time for me to graduate, put my girl pants on and buy myself my very own mattress.
A lot of my family members and relatives own Tempur Pedic mattress, and naturally, I was inclined to purchase one of my own. I knew the $2,000 price tag would be heavy on my pocket, but I wanted a memory foam mattress. I didn’t realize I had a choice. I thought that if I wanted quality mattress, I would need to set aside a few thousand bucks for it.
Call it fate or serendipity… I was mindlessly scrolling through my Facebook news feed when I came across Tuft & Needle’s ad. It claims to be the highest rated mattress on Amazon, and sure enough, when I started reading the reviews, my heartbeat began to quicken. T&N boasts to deliver the perks (quality, comfort, support, etc.) of owning a $3,000+ memory foam mattress at a fair price.
After about mere 7 minutes of research, I was 100% sold. With shaking hands, I placed my credit card information, shipping address and ordered my very own 10-inch queen-sized Tuft & Needle mattress… for only $600.00! Who buys a mattress without trying it first? Apparently, I do and I have zero regrets! It was a leap of faith that absolutely paid off!
Disclaimer: I consider myself a Satisficer. According to Gretchen Rubin, Satisficers are “those who make a decision or take action once their criteria are met. That doesn’t mean they’ll settle for mediocrity; their criteria can be very high; but as soon as they find the car, the hotel, or the pasta sauce that has the qualities they want, they’re satisfied.
In contrasts, “Maximizers want to make the optimal decision. So even if they see a bicycle or a photographer that would seem to meet their requirements, they can’t make a decision until after they’ve examined every option, so they know they’re making the best possible choice.”
Tuft & Needle beyond met my criteria in terms of price, quality, aesthetic appeal, etc., so it was a very easy decision for me to take the risk. Every molecule in my body was all in.
It’s been almost two months since that fateful day, and I’m glad to report that I am completely happy with my Tuft & Needle. They have my business for life. Tuft & Needle delivered every single one of their promises. The mattress itself is the perfect sweet spot between too soft and too firm. The mattress provides both comfort, support, and pressure relief as the foam adapts specifically to each person’s body weight. Additionally, because it is a memory foam, the mattress offers just the right rebound. I have a tendency to toss and turn frequently, and it’s always an insecurity of mine every time I sleep next to someone. With my Tuft & Needle mattress, that worry goes away! When my mattress first arrived, I was so excited I performed the famous “wine test” (not with wine, of course) like the ones made famous in Tempur Pedic commercials, and T&N passed with flying colors!
Another winning quality that won me over about Tuft & Needle is there integrity. There are very few companies out there that sell products that are still 100% made in the America, and T&N is one of them. Their mattresses are made to order and handcrafted in the United States. Additionally, T&N truly stands by their mattresses that they offer a 100-night free sleep trial (30 nights if purchased through Amazon), no hassles or questions if a customer is not satisfied with the product. If there is an instance where a customer is not completely satisfied, the company will work to find local charities and non-profit organizations to donate the mattress to. HOW FREAKING COOL IS THAT! Once the mattress is donated, Tuft & Needle will process the refund in FULL upon receipt of receiving a scanned or photographed copy of the donation receipt. They are so ahead of the game.
My Tuft & Needle mattress has truly been one of the best investments of my adult life thus far. I highly recommend my Tuft & Needle. I love my mattress so much I’ve become their unofficial spokesperson!
